Day 2: Culinary Exploration in Beirut
Morning: Start your day with a Lebanese breakfast, including manakish (flatbreads topped with various ingredients) and strong Lebanese coffee. Visit Souk el Tayeb, Beirut's farmers' market, to discover fresh ingredients and meet local producers. (Open only on Saturdays) Afternoon: Join a cooking class to learn how to prepare traditional Lebanese dishes such as kibbeh, stuffed grape leaves, or shawarma. Evening: Begin your gastronomic tour by visiting a local restaurant to savor traditional Lebanese mezzes, including hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and more.
Day 3: Excursion to Byblos
Morning: On the way to the Jeita Grotto, the caves consist of two galleries. You can venture through these galleries for about 700 meters to admire the maze of stalactites and stalagmites. The lower gallery is crossed by an underground river that can be explored by boat. Evening: Dine in a seafood restaurant along the Mediterranean coast, enjoying dishes such as grilled fish and shrimp. Take a day trip to the historic city of Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Visit local markets and taste street food such as sandwiches and fresh fruit juices. Day 4: Excursion to the North
Morning: Head to the Qadisha Valley, home to some of the oldest Christian monasteries in the Middle East. Visit remarkable monasteries, including Mar Antonios Qozhaya. Lunch at the monastery or a local home, enjoying typical mountain cuisine. Return to Tripoli, a city known for its lively gastronomic scene. Visit local pastry shops to taste traditional Lebanese desserts such as Kanafeh, Beklawa, and Maamoul. Return to Byblos in the evening.
Day 5: Wine and Food Tour in the Bekaa Valley
Morning: Drive to the Bekaa Valley, Baalbek emerges as a green jewel on the slopes of the Anti-Lebanon. The internationally renowned acropolis was built by the Romans in homage to the Sun god (Baal). Visit wineries and taste wines paired with local cheeses and charcuterie. Have lunch at a vineyard where you can enjoy Lebanese specialties paired with local wines. Return to Beirut in the evening.
Day 6: Exploration of Sidon and Tyre
Morning: Drive to Sidon (Saida). This city, founded by the Phoenicians, is protected by the Sea Castle, a fortress built by the Crusaders. Enjoy a falafel lunch at the souk. Continue your journey to Tyre (Sour), a gem on the coast nestled on a small rocky island where you will discover the Greco-Roman stadium, the ruins of the cathedral built by the Crusaders, and the two ports of King Hiram. Explore its archaeological sites. Return to Beirut in the evening.
Day 7: Exploration of Beiteddine and Barouk Reserve
Drive to Chouf. Start your day with a hike in the Chouf Cedar Reserve, where you'll have the chance to see ancient cedars that are 3000 years old. Enjoy a homemade lunch with locals. Continue your journey to Beiteddine Palace, also known as the House of Faith, the finest example of 19th-century Lebanese architecture. Return to Beirut in the evening.
Day 8: Return to Beirut
For your last day in Lebanon, Explore any remaining sites in the city or take some free time to explore further or relax. Dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant and meet the chef for your final meal.
Day 9: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for additional exploration or relaxation. Depart from Beirut, carrying with you the memories of incredible Lebanese cuisine and culture.
